What is a Giving Circle?

A Giving Circle is a group of people with shared values who pool their  money and decide together where it should go. Consolidating and directing resources to a single initiative amplifies the giving!

We selected this philanthropic approach because we want to make giving more accessible while also cultivating an amazing community.

How our Giving Circle works

We prioritize local, small
API-focused organizations.

We define small as having an annual operating budget of $1M or less, where our pooled resources can have the most impact. We define local as the nine counties of the Bay Area.

Everyone has an equal vote.

Each member that donates $300 or more annually is equally able to nominate and vote on the organizations we give to. Additional funds, while welcome, do not grant more voting rights.

We focus on learning and growing.

During our giving cycle, we make it a point to teach and learn about each organization nominated for consideration. This helps grow our individual and collective knowledge of the API space.
